Blantyre in Scotland is a town in the county of South Lanarkshire 15 km southeast of Glasgow with a population of around 17,500.

The Scottish missionary and Africa explorer David Livingstone was born in Blantyre ; The city ​​of the same name in Malawi owes its name to this fact .
