Ludwig Blattner , also Louis Blattner (* 1881 in Germany; † October 30, 1935 in Elstree , Hertsmere ) was a German - British entrepreneur , film producer and inventor . He is considered a film pioneer.

Life

Blattner came from a Jewish family. In 1897 he moved from Germany to Liverpool . Before the First World War, he worked in the entertainment industry in Liverpool. After the First World War he managed a chain of cinemas in Manchester.

Ludwig Blattner developed the with Curt Stille invented Blattnerphone much further, making it the BBC began, bsp. to record the speech of George V at the opening of the India Round Table Conference on November 12, 1930.
