The blue-winged warbler ( Vermivora pinus , Syn . : Vermivora cyanoptera ) is a small bird in the family of the warbler (Parulidae).
The male's plumage is yellow to olive green on the upper side and yellow on the underside. There are two white wing rods on the blue-gray to gray wing-covers. There is a short black stripe above the eye. Overall, females have duller plumage than the males.
Blue-winged warblers predominantly feed on insects .
Blue-winged warbler lay their bowl-shaped nests close to the ground in a bush or directly on the ground. The female lays four to seven eggs in the nest.
The breeding areas are in eastern North America and southern Ontario . In winter he moves to South America and is also a rare guest in Western Europe such as Ireland .
