The Blohm & Voss BV P 200 was the project draft of a large transatlantic flying boat that was planned by Richard Vogt during the Second World War , but was to be used for peaceful transatlantic traffic. The building description of July 4, 1941 was submitted three quarters of a year after the first flight of the BV 222 , but was not followed up.

construction

The structural design of the P 200 corresponded to the BV 222 in all groups. The tubular spar of the wing had a diameter of 1.75 m and was sufficient to accommodate the entire fuel quantity of 70,000 kg. The BV P 200 should have eight engines of 4,000 hp each and a total output of 32,000 hp. Experience has shown that it is not difficult to lift 6.5 to 7 kg / HP out of the water and so you get a take-off weight of 210 to 225 tons.

The large flying boat should be able to transport a total of 120 passengers on three decks. The boat width should be 5.4 m, the boat height 10.0 m. When it comes to the room layout, particular mention should be made of the approx. 60 m² large dining room in the middle of the middle deck with seating for 65 people and the attractive 50 m² lounge on the top deck. The overall design is similar to that of the later Hughes H-4 .
