The Blohm & Voss P 212 was a study of a single-seat German jet fighter from 1945.

development

The design is based on the Blohm & Voss P 208 , only one has instead of a piston engine with pusher propeller Heinkel HeS 011 - jet engine provided. The Blohm & Voss P 212 took part in the OKL's tender from the end of 1944 for a single-seat day fighter with a jet turbine, four MK 108s and a required top speed of 1,000 km / h. Compared to the other designs, the Blohm & Voss P 212 was defeated. The Junkers EF 128 won the tender .

The design showed a middle-decker with retractable landing gear , barrel-shaped fuselage that carried the engine , and double tail booms on swept wings.

Compared to the Messerschmitt Me 262 , the study had a better thrust / weight ratio, advanced aerodynamics and only one engine. Nevertheless, 965 km / h should be achieved. Since the creation of a prototype would have lasted until autumn 1945, the project was not pursued any further, although three prototypes had already been ordered.
