The Blohm & Voss BV 144 was a German short and medium-haul transport aircraft from the Blohm & Voss company .

The aircraft was developed in 1940 following a tender from Deutsche Lufthansa for a replacement for the Junkers Ju 52 / 3m . The transport capacity should be slightly higher than that of the Ju 52 / 3m, as well as be economical for civil post-war air transport. The aircraft was mainly designed by French engineers. The production of prototypes was also relocated to France.

The aircraft was a cantilever, full- metal shoulder- wing wing . Based on our experience with adjustable sashes with the Blohm & Voss Ha 140 , the BV 144 was also equipped with a sash that can be tilted up to 9 ° around the transverse axis. This made it possible to keep the aircraft straight when climbing and descending; a gain in comfort for the passengers. Furthermore, a short, retractable three-wheeled chassis was used, with which the machine had relatively little ground clearance, which, however, benefited the entry of the passengers. The aircraft was powered by two BMW 801 A double radial engines, each with a takeoff power of 1560 hp. The crew consisted of a pilot, co-pilot and radio operator. 18 passengers could be transported with luggage or up to 23 without luggage.

Of the two copies ordered, only one was made and taken over by the French after the Allied invasion.
