The Blokker Holding BV is the parent company of a Dutch trading company, which, Luxembourg, France, Germany and other countries is also active in Belgium. Blokker operates chain stores under various names that deal primarily with household goods and toys, primarily in the medium to low price segment, but also with interior furnishings, garden accessories, fashion accessories and more. Blokker Holding is headquartered in Laren in North Holland . The holding is owned by a foundation, the Stichting Administratiekantoor Blokker BV., Also based in Laren. Blokker is one of the largest toy retailers in Central Europe. The group has around 24,500 employees and an annual turnover of 2.8 billion euros .

history

Blokker was founded on April 25, 1896 by Jacob and Saapke Blokker in Hoorn as an iron and wood goods store under the name De goedkope IJzer- en Houtwinkel . In 1923, a former pottery was purchased to expand there. In the 1930s, the sons opened several branches in the Randstad under the name Gebroeder Blokker . Her descendants built the company into a nationwide chain. The group continued to grow through acquisitions of other companies. Today Blokker Holding operates around 2,700 stores in 14 countries.

In 2003 Jaap Blokker was named Dealer of the Year. After the German department store chain Karstadt Kompakt was changed to Hertie GmbH in 2007 , their toy departments were completely supplied by Intertoys.
