Blood ( English for: "Blood") is the fourth studio album by the American band In This Moment . It was released on August 14, 2012 and spawned three singles. Instead of the Metalcore / Alternative Metal sound found on their previous albums, this album is more Nu Metal and Industrial Metal influenced with electronic elements. This album was the first to beconsidered goldby the RIAA ( Recording Industry Association of America ). The band had gone through a lot of line up changes that put Maria and Chris in a difficult position. They would disband since the original members Blake Bunzel and Jeff Fabb had left, but they welcomed Randy Weitzel and Tom Hane as successors and continued to play and write music.

About the album

Blake and Jeff's sacking inspired the album both lyrically and musically, with Maria saying, "It's like they moved on and some other things in my life, it's so cool because it's just as brand new and feels real brilliant. And you will be able to hear it. " Chris Howorth added, "Jeff and Blake made us stand up a bit and we went from the heart. We went a different path and it was more organic than ever." The title track "Blood" premiered live for the first time at the Soundwave Festival in early 2012 , and shortly afterwards other tracks from the album were played live, such as "Whore", "You're Gonna Listen", "Burn" and "Adrenalize".

New edition

The Deluxe Edition of the album was released on December 14, 2012 and included a bonus CD that included a cover of "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails and remixes of their songs. It was only sold in all Hot Topic stores. Blood was reissued as a Special Edition on January 21, 2014, with their cover of "Closer" and a live DVD of the band performing at the Orpheum Theater in Madison. "Closer" was also a bonus track on iTunes .
