Blue Horizon Records

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blue Horizon Records was a British blues label founded by Mike Vernon in the mid-1960s .

It was the most important label of the British blues scene and published not only English artists but also albums by American blues artists. A license and distribution agreement was signed with CBS and some albums by American artists were released on a license basis, but Mike Vernon also produced many of his own recordings. The label stopped production around 1971, and its releases are now rare collector's items. From time to time there were re-releases on Sire Records and Line Records, but it wasn't until the 2000s that Mike Vernon remastered the recordings, making them accessible again to blue enthusiasts.
