description

The Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp was founded as a non-profit organization in 1966 by Fritz and Gretchen Stansell. The family still owns the organization. The camp is about 5 km² and is located in the "Manistee National Forest" in Michigan . It can accommodate up to 4,500 fifth to twelfth graders for two weeks each.

Blue Lake operates VHF radio stations both locally and in Grand Rapids . These are affiliate partners of National Public Radio .

Blue Lake also has programs for adults. Unlike the young people who reside in the camp's rustic huts, they stay in hotels in the area. Like young people, they work with their instruments on their own and in ensembles every day. All age groups are welcome to the leisure, teaching and regular concerts.

Big bands , orchestras and choirs . These programs are designed to introduce American students to European culture. From the Senate of the United States they were considered "outstanding representatives of the United States called". Blue Lake also started multicultural experiments such as the "Blue Lake in Bavaria" ensemble ( Engl. Bavaria = " Bayern ") was composed of both American and European students of various ages. The ensemble rehearsed and gave concerts together over a period of one month.
