Blue mink
Blue Mink was a British pop group that was successful between 1969 and 1973.
group
Roger Coulam ( organ ) formed the band in the fall of 1969, with Madeline Bell (vocals), Roger Cook (vocals), Herbie Flowers ( bass ) and Barry Morgan ( drums ). Most of the songs were written by Roger Cook and Roger Greenaway . The two were successful songwriters as early as the 1960s .
In their biggest hit, Melting Pot , which was number 3 in Great Britain at the end of 1969 , they recommend simply throwing all of humanity, regardless of ethnic origin or religious belief, into one huge pot and stirring it until everyone is finally equal (“coffee -brown ") would be. Mick Jagger and his girlfriend at the time Marianne Faithfull explain that life could also be very beautiful.
As a studio musician, Herbie Flowers has played bass on numerous albums by well-known artists. Among others on Tumbleweed Connection and Madman Across the Water by Elton John (1970/71), Diamond Dogs by David Bowie (1974), Nilsson Schmilsson (1971), Transformer by Lou Reed (1972), Cat Stevens Foreigner (1973), Rock On by David Essex (1973), Dandy in the Underworld by T. Rex (1977) and on the concept album Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of the War of the Worlds (1978) where his virtuoso playing comes into its own.
