The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is an interest group of now more than 34,000 companies interested in the development and dissemination of Bluetooth technology. It was founded in 1998 by Ericsson , IBM , Intel , Nokia and Toshiba . 1999 came 3Com , Lucent , Microsoft and Motorola added.
SIG promoters today are the following companies: Apple , Ericsson, Lenovo , Nokia, Toshiba, Intel and Microsoft.
Bluetooth SIG is the owner of the Bluetooth trademark and publisher of the Bluetooth specification. It does not develop or sell any equipment.
