history

The Blumberger Park condominium was built in 1996 and 1998/1999 between Altentreptower Straße and Buckower Ring and between Blumberger Damm and the area of the Wilhelm-Griesinger Hospital . A total of 850 apartments were to be built according to the plans of Klaus Theo Brenner (urban development), Jens Willing, Sabine Meier (design) by the pgn corporate group Bremen at a cost of 300 million marks . Before that, the old district heating and high-voltage lines had to be removed, an incident occurred on November 18, 1996. A crane container lifted a 220 kV line and caused a major accident . As a result, the power supply in eight eastern boroughs was interrupted for a period of two hours and 39 minutes. The construction work began with a delay in mid-1997. The first construction section between Altentreptower Strasse and Warener Strasse was completed in 2000, the second construction section between Warener Strasse and Buckower Ring will not be implemented because the investor has become insolvent . At the end of 2000 an underground car park was built and in 2001 the meander construction (offset buildings parallel to Blumberger Damm) began.
