A flower carpet is an ornament or picture made from flowers , blossoms and flower parts that is laid out on the floor like a carpet . The flowers are laid out on the floor in whole or in part in pictorial or abstract arrangements. These carpets represent the classic flower carpet in the broadest sense and have only a limited shelf life.
Flower carpets are usually laid out on Corpus Christi or Thanksgiving .
There are also some modifications of these "carpets", which z. B. made of straw or colored sawdust and usually only contain isolated flowers. When using colored sands , however, one speaks of a mandala .
