Blood Loss was a punk band that was founded in 1978 in Rotenburg an der Fulda , Hesse . In their lyrics, the band took up classic political issues and sang against war and the established society.

history

Peter Thomas and Kai Uwe Schönewolf founded Blood Loss in 1978. Her practice room was first the garage of Peter Thomas' parents and later the "Grotto", a historic vaulted cellar in the " House of Youth " (" JUZE ") Rotenburg. On the first anniversary of Marc Bolan's death (September 16, 1978), they played their first concert in the Juze Rotenburg. They played their first concert outside of Rotenburg in March 1981 in Witzenhausen . They quickly made a name for themselves in the punk scene through regional appearances. They recorded their first professional tape in 1982 in the “Rennquintett Rehearsal Studio”; It was distributed by a friend, Arne Gesemann ( Chaos Record ). Shortly after the recordings, Kai-Uwe Schönewolf got tired of playing bass and left the group. Parallel to Blood Loss, bassist Kai-Uwe Schönewolf was still playing drums in the band Bunker and switched to this instrument in Blood Loss. Irmgard "Tante Irmchen" Mersch, who previously sang with Rennquintett, joined the band as the new bass player. Blood loss resolved around 1983 after numerous appearances (including with the Boskops, Neurotic Arseholes, Inferno, Napalm and ZSD).

Peter Thomas and Peter Küllmer joined bunkers. They later renamed themselves Maniacs , a tribute to Peter and the Test Tube Babies and their title Maniacs . Irmgard Mersch sang in the first Wolfhagen punk band Faderland from 1983 . In the summer of 1995 she became active again on bass with Psychisch Instabil , who covered the song Ich will not die für Deutschland with her , published on Bad Taste.
