Bluvertigo was an Italian alternative rock band formed in Milan in 1994.

Band history

The band goes back to the joint musical activities of Marco Castoldi (called "Morgan") and Andrea Fumagalli ("Andy"). The two initially called themselves Lizard Mixture , later Smoking Cocks , until they were signed as Golden Age in 1989 together with Fabiano Villa . In this formation they released the album Chains in 1990 . After the band split up, Marco Pancaldi and Sergio Carnevale joined Morgan and Andy, and in 1994 the new group released the first single Iodio , now called Bluvertigo .

The band's debut album was released in 1995 under the title Acidi e basi and formed the prelude to the “chemistry trilogy” ( trilogia chimica ). Bluvertigo stepped up and opened u. a. a concert by Oasis . After Livio Magnini took the place of Marco Pancaldi in 1996, the band released the second album of the trilogy, Metallo non metallo , in 1997 in collaboration with Mauro Pagani . This also reached the charts for the first time. Two years later, Zero (ovvero la famosa nevicata dell'85) completed the trilogy; This album also included vocal contributions by Franco Battiato .

With L'assenzio , the band took part in the 2001 Sanremo Festival , but ended up in last place. Then the compilation Pop Tools appeared . Except for the opening of a concert by David Bowie in 2002, a longer period of inactivity set in, during which the band members devoted themselves to other projects. Morgan released several solo albums and rose to prominence through his work as a juror on the talent show X Factor (he participated in seven seasons of the show by 2015). For the MTV telecast Storytellers , the band was back together in 2008 and took a live album. It was not until 2014 that Bluvertigo became more active and gave a series of concerts. In 2015 she presented a new song for the first time and in 2016 she again took part in the Sanremo Festival , but without making it to the final. Then the compilation I grandi successi appeared .
