Bořík Procházka

Bořík Procházka (born November 29, 1930 in Prague ; † May 13, 2013 there ) was a Czech actor .

Career

Procházka came from a family of opera singers. His brother Zdeněk also became an actor, his other brother Vladimír a theater scholar.

He grew up in Mělník and played in an amateur theater there in his youth. After graduating from school, he first attended a teacher training institute and then studied drama with Radovan Lukavský at the theater faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague . After completing his studies, Procházka received engagements at the Mladá Boleslav Theater , the FX Šalda Theater in Liberec and the Olomouc Theater. From 1966 until its closure in 1972, he worked at Otomar Krejča's theater behind the gate ( Divadlo za branou ) in Prague. At the same time he also played at the theater on the railing ( Divadlo Na zábradlí ). At the National Theater had Procházka at Krejčas adaptation of Faust with.

In addition to his work at the theater, Procházka played in numerous films, mostly in smaller roles. Procházka suddenly died in 2013.

His daughter Marika Procházková (* 1974), who also became an actress, comes from a relationship with the actress Marika Skopalová. His nephew is the dramaturge and director of the Prague Činoherní club, Vladimír Procházka.

Awards

• For the role of Sir in the Garderobiér, Procházka was honored with a prize from the Association of Czechoslovak Dramatic Artists ( svaz československých dramatických umělců )
• The city of Mělník awarded him the Silver Order in 2010
