BoConcept Germany GmbH is a German company in the furnishing industry that operates 32 BoConcept stores nationwide through franchise partners. The Austrian and Swiss markets also fall within her area of responsibility. The company's headquarters are in Düsseldorf .
The company is part of BoConcept A / S (headquarters in Herning, Denmark).
history
BoConcept was founded in 1952 by the two carpenters Jens Ærthøj Jensen and Tage Mølholm in Herning, Denmark. Their goal was to produce high-quality designer furniture that is not only convincing in terms of appearance, but also in terms of functionality and a balanced price-performance ratio. In 1993 the first BoConcept store was opened in Paris. In the same year, additional store openings were made in France, China and the USA. There are now more than 300 BoConcept stores in over 60 countries.
In July 2016 Viggo Mølholm and his family decided to sell the family business and sold the company to the private equity fund 3i. The successful exit from the Copenhagen Stock Exchange followed in the same year.
Business activity
BoConcept sells modern designer furniture, which is sold through stores operated by franchise partners. In Germany, BoConcept is currently represented with 32 stores, in Austria with four and in Switzerland with two. The products offered are divided into the areas of living, eating, sleeping, working and accessories.
The design of the furniture can be assigned to the Scandinavian design . The furniture in the collections is designed by our own and external designers. For example, the Ottawa dining room collection was created in collaboration with the internationally renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid . Or Oki Sato from the multiple award-winning Japanese design studio nendo designed the fusion collection especially for BoConcept.
