Bo Kaspers Orkester

The Bo Kaspers Orkester is a Swedish band from the 1990s and 2000s. The band has sold over 1.5 million albums in the Scandinavian countries in two decades. Their music mixes pop-rock with jazz elements and partly with Latin American music.

Band history

The band was founded in 1991 by singer and namesake Bo Kasper Sundström. Her debut album Söndag i sängen , which was released in 1993, was created using jazz samples and the participation of jazz musicians such as Per "Rusktrask" Johansson. The album reached number 25 on the Swedish album charts.

With the following albums and as a band on a TV show, the band's popularity increased. The second album På hotell was awarded gold the following year and was thus recognized across borders in Norway. The easy-listening- oriented album America came in at number three. The band topped the charts for the first time in 1998 with the more poppy album I centrum and was then awarded the most important Swedish music prize, Grammis, as the best interpreter of the year.

By then the Bo Kaspers Orkester had also established itself in Norway, with the following albums Hittills (best of album) and Kaos , their second number one album, the band also managed to gain a foothold in Finland and Denmark.

Bo Kasper released a solo album called Skåne in 2005 under the name Bo Sundström , which entered the top ten of the charts in Sweden and Finland. At the end of 2013 he took part in Så mycket bättre , the Swedish version of Sing mein Song , which resulted in the album Så mycket Bo Kaspers Orkester .
