Bobby Lynch (born May 18, 1935 in Dublin ; † October 2, 1982 ibid) was a member of the Irish folk band " The Dubliners " from 1964 to 1965 .

Live and act

Bobby Lynch met and joined the "Dubliners" in O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin shortly after they were founded. When Luke Kelly temporarily left the group to go to England with his wife , he became a full member of the group.

In the one year of his membership he only recorded one album with the "Dubliners" and that was the live album "In Concert". His voice can be heard as the leading voice in the songs "Patriot Games" and "The Kerry Recruit". He remained unforgettable in the group and his voice can also be heard as a small tribute in the 2002 album for the 40th anniversary, also in "The Kerry Recruit".

When Luke Kelly returned to the Dubliners in 1965, Bobby Lynch left the band and went to Canada as a songwriter . His songs have been recorded by a number of artists and two songs landed as top hits in the charts.
After returning to Dublin, he released his only solo album, "From the Land of Carolan". This album was not a great success and so Bobby Lynch appeared again in Dublin pubs.
For a while he also ran an electronics store in downtown Dublin.

In October 1982, Bobby Lynch, who had previously suffered from depression for some time, passed away by suicide .
