Boca del Río is a suburb south of the Mexican port city of Veracruz . The city in the state of Veracruz got its name, which translated means estuary , from its location on the left side of the Río Jamapa , which flows into the Gulf of Mexico here . Boca del Río is the administrative seat of the Municipio Boca del Río and has about 10,000 inhabitants.
The first settlement of today's city was built at the site of the river mouth and gradually expanded further north and west. But the place of the original settlement is still considered the actual heart of the city and the seat of government of the municipality is still located here.
