Bockstal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bockstal is a deserted area in the Hegegrund between Klostermansfeld , Helbra and Volkstedt in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt , Germany . It was located at the confluence of the great Bockstal in the Hegegrund, roughly where a bridge over the Wilder Graben stands today.

history

Bockstal was a relatively insignificant settlement of the Frankish settlement phase, which came back relatively early. In the 16th century, the chronicler Cyriacus Spangenberg reported on the remains of the wall that were recently visible at the village site.

The place was mentioned in a document in 1311 as Bocksthal , as Count Burchard IX. von Mansfeld a Dieterich Comerer a . a. enfeoffed with the village. In a later feudal letter from Archbishop Ernst to the Counts of Mansfeld on April 22nd, 1477 , a Bocksthal is mentioned as an accessory to Mansfeld Castle between the villages of Zerkendorf and Hohenwarte (which are also deserted today). In 1609, Bocksthal was also named as an accessory for Mansfeld Castle.

After the fall of the village, its corridor was initially forested . But it was cut down again between 1813 and 1815. More recently, new forest has grown on the slopes around the Hegegrund.
