The Lauenroth post mill is a listed post mill in the village of Wulferstedt in Saxony-Anhalt, which belongs to the municipality of Am Großen Bruch .
location
Today the windmill is surrounded by fields a little southwest of the local area of Wulferstedt on Knielweg. With the Dieckmann mill, there is another historic windmill southeast of the village.
Architecture and history
In 1808 the Breitmeyersche post mill was built at the current mill location. Sometimes the name Breitfeldsche Mühle is also used. After cessation of use in the 20th century, this mill fell into disrepair, but was renovated in the mid-1990s. During the Jeanett hurricane , the windmill blades started turning on October 28, 2002, despite the brake being used. The resulting heat ignited a fire to which the mill almost completely fell victim. Only the Schrick remained.
The dilapidated three -tier post mill Lauenroth was then dismantled in 2003 and rebuilt in Wulferstedt in 2004/2005.
In the local register of monuments , the mill is listed as a monument under registration number 09456006 .
