Bodo Schrader

Bodo Schrader (born September 1, 1928 in Braunschweig ; † October 24, 2018 ibid) was a German professor for the teaching and research area "Electronic Data Processing in Geodesy " at the Technical University of Braunschweig .

Life

After graduating from the Raabeschule (Braunschweig) in 1948, Schrader began studying surveying at the Technical University of Braunschweig under the then director Prof. Egbert Harbert . After completing his intermediate diploma, he continued his studies at the Technical University of Hanover up to the diploma examination. After a brief activity at the Brunsviga machine works and a legal traineeship at the Lower Saxony surveying and cadastral administration, he returned to the Technical University of Braunschweig in 1957.

In 1958 Schrader did his doctorate with the dissertation Contributions to the economic solution of the main geodetic task for long distances .

Schrader was appointed Scientific Councilor and Professor in 1965, and in 1978 he set up his own "Electronic Data Processing" department at the Institute for Surveying. His special research interests were the automation of geodetic measurement and evaluation processes and the computer-aided routing of roads.
