Bodo Wißen (born March 16, 1974 in Wesel ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2005 to 2010 he was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament , where he was the transport policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.

School, training, studies and work

Bodo Wißen left the secondary school in Rees in 1991 with the secondary school leaving certificate and the qualification to attend upper secondary school. From 1991 to 1993 he attended the basic vocational school year as well as the commercial vocational school. In 1993 he graduated as an administrative clerk. From 1992 to 1994 he was a candidate in the middle non-technical telecommunications service. In 1994 he graduated as a telecommunications assistant z. A. He works for various telecommunications offices and, when they were founded, for Deutsche Telekom .

From 1993 he went to evening high school and passed his Abitur in 1997. From 1998 to 2003 he studied history and political science at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . In 2003 he obtained a Magister Artium (MA).

From 2003 to 2005 he worked at Deutsche Telekom AG as a clerk and as head of the back office team in the back office and process management area. In order to perform his mandate, knowledge was given leave of absence. At the end of 2010 he finally resigned from work for Deutsche Telekom AG.

From 2010 to 2013 he worked in the Ministry for Building, Housing, Urban Development and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . In June 2013, Bodo Wißen moved to the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia at the European Union as Head of Policy / Consultant for Building, Housing, Urban Development and Transport. After the end of the three-year secondment, Wißen returned from Brussels in mid-2016 and was seconded to the "European Union" group at the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia as a consultant and deputy head of department . Since March 2017 he has been working as a consultant for the later so-called Ministry for Homeland, Local Affairs, Building and Equality of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Party political engagement

Bodo Wißen has been a member of the SPD since 1997. In addition to his work in the local Reeser SPD association, he held various positions with the Young Socialists ( Jusos ) in the Kleve district, most recently as district chairman. From 2004 to 2014 he was a member of the board of the SPD sub-district of Kleve and from 2008 to 2014 a member of the board of the SPD region Niederrhein. From 2012 to 2014 he was a delegate for the party convention. For the period from 2008 to 2010, Bodo Wißen was appointed to the leadership academy of the party executive committee of the SPD. In 2005, 2010 and 2012, Wißen was a candidate for the state parliament and in 2009 a candidate for the district of Klever SPD.

Local political engagement

From 1999 to 2004 he was a competent citizen in the district council of the Kleve district. In 2004 he became a member of the Kleve district council. The SPD parliamentary group in the district council of the Kleve district elected him deputy chairman in 2009 and 2012. He was u. a. Deputy Chairman of the School and Culture Committee and full member of the District Committee. When he started working in Brussels in June 2013, he gave up his district council mandate.

Knowing is a member of several social and community organizations such as the Verdi trade union and the workers' welfare .

Parliamentary work

Bodo Wißen was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament from June 8, 2005 to June 8, 2010. He was a member of the committee for building and transport, transport policy spokesman and deputy chairman of the SPD working group for building and transport, and a member of the committee for local politics in the subcommittee for state companies and special assets of the budget and finance committee. He was a member of Enquetekommission I on the effects of long-term sharp increases in the prices of oil and gas imports. Wißen was a deputy member of the Committee on Environment, Nature Conservation, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, the Committee on Economy, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Energy as well as the Study Commission II “Chances for Children”. Bodo Wißen represented the SPD parliamentary group in the presidium of the NRW district assembly.
