Bodyjar is an Australian pop punk and punk rock band from Melbourne , which was founded in 1991 under the name Damnation and disbanded in 2009. The band has been active again since 2012.

history

The band was formed in 1991 under the name Damnation and consisted of guitarist and singer Cameron Baines, guitarist Ben Petterson, bassist Grant Relf and drummer Charles Zerafa. The band recorded some demos and changed their name to Helium. In 1994 the group changed their name again to Bodyjar and signed a contract with Shagpile Records . The band recorded the EP Time to Grow Up , which was followed by the debut album Take a Look Inside . In the same year Charles Zerafa got out and was replaced by drummer Ross Hetherington.

In the following years the band gave a few concerts and was able to increase their popularity in Australia, Japan , Europe , Canada and the USA. In 1996 the band released the album Rimshot! finished and released the EP Strange Harvest a year later . The album No Touch Red followed in 1998. In the same year the band gave concerts with NOFX , The Offspring , Blink-182 , Face to Face and Spiderbait .

In 1999 guitarist Ben Petterson left the band and was replaced by Tom Read. In 2000 the group signed a contract with EMI and released the album How It Works on the label . The next album followed with Plastic Skies in 2002. Two years later, drummer Hetherington left the band and was replaced by Shane Wakker. In 2005 the group released the album Bodyjar on Shock Records . In 2009 the band broke up. In 2012 the band got back together and played a reunion tour that same year. She also played concerts with Descendents in early 2013 . In September 2013 it was also announced that the band was planning to release a new album, which would be called Role Model . In addition, a music video for the song Fairytales was released . The album was released that same year on the We Are Unified label .
