Bogdan Ostromęcki

Bogdan Ostromęcki (born July 12, 1911 in Włocławek , † January 8, 1979 in Warsaw ) was a Polish writer.

Ostromęcki studied law at the University of Warsaw from 1930 to 1934 . After obtaining his master's degree, he completed an internship at a Warsaw court until 1938. Ostromęcki has been writing poetry since he was a student; In 1939 the first poems appeared in the magazine Kultura . During the first years of the war he studied underground Polish studies in Warsaw. Since 1943 he was active in the Polish Home Army .

After the Warsaw Uprising , Ostromęcki lived in the country, from where he returned to Warsaw in 1945. In 1949 he became an editor in the literary department of the Polish Radio. In 1958 he became editor-in-chief of the poetry programs. In addition to essays and translations from French, Ostromęcki has published poems for children and adults.
