Bogislaw VII (* before 1355 ; † 1404 ) was a Duke of Pomerania-Stettin from the Greifenhaus .

Life and accomplishments

Bogislaw VII was a son of Duke Barnim III. the founder of the church (around 1303–1368) who ruled in the Pomeranian partial duchy of Pomerania-Stettin . After the death of Barnim III. in 1368 his three surviving sons, in addition to Bogislaw VII, his older brothers Casimir III took over. and Swantibor III. , together rulership in Pomerania-Stettin.

After Casimir III. In 1372 fell in the fight against Brandenburg, Swantibor III continued. and Bogislaw VII continued the joint government in Pomerania-Stettin. Bogislaw is mentioned in the documents as an equal duke, but was overshadowed by his older brothers. He died in 1404; his surviving brother Swantibor III. continued the government in Pomerania-Stettin alone.

Bogislaw VII is possibly identical with the "hertog [e] va groetswün", so probably the "Duke of Groswin ", whose coat of arms is depicted in the Codex Gelre , a book of coats of arms from the end of the 14th century.
