Boimah Fahnbulleh

Boimah Fahnbulleh or Henry Boimah Fahnbulleh (* 1949 in Monrovia ) is a Liberian politician and diplomat. He is currently a member of the Government of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as National Security Advisor . Before that he was a consultant for international affairs for her.

Life

From 1981 to 1983 he was foreign minister under Samuel Kanyon Doe , who was president of the country from 1980 to 1990. He enjoyed his education in Sierra Leone , Kenya and the United States . He graduated from the University of Sierra Leone and received his PhD from George Washington University in Philosophy and International Politics .

Fahnbulleh's father, Henry Boimah Fahnbulleh sen. , was also very well known in Liberian society and " in Fahnbulleh Jr's words, was killed while striving for socio-economic justice " ( C. Emmanuel Johnson , German: "died in the words of his son in pursuit of socio-economic justice") . In 1968 he was arrested as ambassador to East Africa and charged with high treason and convicted. In 1971 he was rehabilitated and pardoned under the new President William R. Tolbert junior .

The political origins Fahnbullehs is the opposition movement, where he worked in the 1970s, a member of the Movement for Justice in Africa ((MOJA) German  Movement for Justice in Africa ) was the violent resistance to the True Whig Party made, the finance minister at the time the current President and Sirleaf was Fahnbulleh's boss. From 1983 to 1990 and from 1997 to 2000 he lived in exile in London .

Political opponents like to criticize the "turning neck behavior" of his vita and a certain arrogance regarding his high education and use it as a prime example to show what is going wrong in Liberia.

Boimah Fahnbulleh's sister Miata Fahnbulleh is a well-known singer.
