Boise Cascade is a US manufacturer and distributor of building materials made of wood . The company sells 60% of the products it manufactures through its own wholesale division. In 2019, so-called EWPs (Engineered Wood Products) were responsible for around 57% of sales. This product line includes prefabricated beams made of bound wood particles . Veneer plywood accounted for a further 30% of sales and simple construction timber for 4% .
Boise Cascade was formed in 1957 through the merger of the Boise-Payette Lumber Company with the Cascade Lumber Company.
There is no association between Boise Cascade and the Canadian paper manufacturer Cascades or Boise Paper, a trademark of the Packaging Corporation of America .
