Bolbe
Bolbe ( Greek Βόλβη ) is a Naiad or sea goddess of Greek mythology .
She lived in Lake Bolbe (now Lake Volvi ) or Lake Κερκινίτις (Espensee or Ringelsee) on the Strymonian Gulf in Macedonia and Thrace . As with other sea gods, Bolbe's children are lemonades , naiads who live in freshwater lakes. According to Athenaeus , she was the mother of Olynthus , whom she received from Heracles and to whom she brought abundant fish in the months of Anthesterion and Elaphebolion . According to older legend, Olynthus was the son of the Thracian king Strymon.
