Bolo IV. Baron of Ripperda zu Petkum (* 1630 , † 1680 in Petkum ) was President of the East Frisian Landscape .

Bolo von Ripperda was born as the son of Thea (born von Werdum) and Bolo III. Baron of Ripperda zu Petkum, court judge born in Aurich. He grew up in Petkum Castle in East Frisia .

Life

Bolo was President of the East Frisian Landscape and became the authorized representative of the East Frisian Estates and the Princess of East Frisia at the imperial court in Vienna . He was supposed to enforce the complete liberation of East Frisia from all billeting and other burdens of war with the emperor in return for a certain amount of compensation.

Emperor Leopold I confirmed the Imperial Baron Diploma of Emperor Friedrich III on September 3, 1676 in Vienna . of 1474 for Bolo IV and the whole family of Ripperda . Bolo IV was allowed to combine the coat of arms of Petkum with his family coat of arms. He was not married and had no children.
