The Bolsa de Valores de Colombia (BVC) is an on- exchange trading center of the Stock Exchange of Colombia based in Bogotá .
The BVC emerged from the merger of the Bolsa de Bogotá , founded in 1928, the Bolsa de Medellín , founded in 1961 and the Bolsa de Occidente , founded in 1983 in Cali . It is part of the Federación Iboamericana de Bolsas (FIAB), the Mercado Integrado Latinoamericano (MILA), which also runs the Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago ( Chile ), Bolsa Mexicana de Valores ( Mexico ) and Bolsa de Valores de Lima ( Peru ), are connected.
BVC shares are listed in the COLCAP , COLEQTY , COLSC and COLIR indices .
Among the South American stock exchanges, Colombian stocks have performed the best on a risk-adjusted basis over the past decade. Since the armed conflict in Colombia mainly took place in rural areas, the economy has nevertheless prospered in recent years. In 2015 it grew by 3.0 percent; in 2016, GDP was expected to grow by 3.1 percent.
