Bomb Everything was a British band from London formed in 1988 under the name Bomb Disneyland .

history

The band was formed in 1988 by guitarist and singer Mark Cooper and bassist Mark "Prud" Prytherch. A short time later, guitarist Karl Bushel and drummer Steve "Tash" Gorse joined the band. Together they rehearsed some songs and recorded their first demo , which contained three songs. The band got a contract with Vinyl Solution .

In 1989 the debut album Why Not? which was recorded and mixed at Loco Studios in South Wales within three days. The band's Mickey Mouse logo caused problems with the Hells Angels , as they felt attacked by the logo. As a result, other gangs wore this logo to provoke the Hells Angels, so that the band agreed to change the logo with the gang. After appearing on television, Bomb Disneyland was contacted by a lawyer for The Walt Disney Company , who insisted on changing the band's name. To avoid further quarrels, Bomb Disneyland changed their name to Bomb Everything. In the meantime, Bushel and Gorse had left the band and were replaced by drummer Scott Preece. The first release under the new name was the 1990 album Guess What? .

In 1992 the third and final album The All Powerful Fluid followed , which was recorded over the course of three weeks and with which the band made a stylistic change in the direction of industrial rock . The album has been compared with the works of Ministry , among other things . The accompanying single Fountainhead was released that same year.

In 1993, Bomb Everything broke up.

style

The music is difficult to clearly assign to a category and was initially described by Spin magazine as Motörhead meets metal funk . On their last release, the band played industrial rock, which, however, differed from well-known representatives of the genre in particular in its production method:

“What distinguishes us from formations like Ministry or Revolting Cocks, however, is that they make programmed music, electronic music, and later add their metal influence to it. We work the other way around. Our music is based on the guitars, with a slight electronic addition. "
