Bombalurina was a synth-pop studio project by the British television presenter Timmy Mallett (actually Timothy Mallett , born October 10, 1955 in Marple, Northern England ), which was completed by the singers and dancers Dawn and Annie Dunkley.
biography
With a cover version of the song Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini , which was published successfully by various artists in 1960, a surprise hit succeeded in the summer of 1990. The song was first a number one hit in the British charts , but shortly thereafter also rose to the top 10 in Germany and Austria .
In November 1990, the follow-up single Seven Little Girls Sitting in the Back Seat was released , a cover version of the hit of the same name from 1959, which only reached a hit parade in England. However, in 18th place, the song was much less successful than its predecessor.
The only album , Huggin 'an' a Kissin ' , was released in December 1990 and made it to number 55 on the UK charts. Mallett then ended the project and returned to his television career.
