Bondage Fruit is a Japanese experimental Zeuhl band that was formed in 1990.

Band history

Bondage Fruit's origins go back to 1980 when Yuji Katsui formed a band called Deforme. During the first years of Bondage Fruit, the line-up changed constantly, only becoming stable in 1993 after Kumiko Takara, Yoichi Okabe, Aki Kubota (later also Koenjihyakkei ) and Yuki Saga joined. The band was able to gain a small following through appearances in Tokyo . Her self-titled debut album was released in 1994 and featured varied, virtuoso and complex Zeuhl with some jazz and folk influences.

Before the second album, which was released in 1996, Aki Kubota left the band and was replaced by Yen Chang, who was already a guest singer on the debut. She and Yuki Saga left the band after the second album, after which the line-up remained stable. Over the years Bondage Fruit moved away from the original Zeuhl and integrated many experimental and improvised elements into their style.

Founding member and guitarist Natsuki Kido founded in 1998 with Tatsuya Yoshida of Ruins also and Kōenji Hyakkei AvantProg - fusion band Korekyojinn .
