Koenjihyakkei ( Japanese 高 円 寺 百 景 , Kōenji Hyakkei ) is a Japanese Zeuhl band that was formed in the early 1990s.

Band history

The band was started by Ruins drummer Tatsuya Yoshida . In 1994 the debut album appeared with Aki Kubota from Bondage Fruit , Ryuichi Masuda from Ruins and Shigekazu Kuwahara. Koenjihyakkei played Japanese-style Zeuhl with Kobaïan choirs and dominating bass and drum rhythms. After that, line-up changes and stylistic developments took place for each release.

The name of the band means about "Hundred Views of Kōenji", as does the English-language title of the debut album. Kōenji is a district of Tokyo .
