Bone: Out from Boneville (German title: Bone - escape from Boneville ) is one of Telltale Games developed, published in September 2005 Adventure - Computer game that targets the Bone comics by Jeff Smith is based. The engine developed by Telltale was later used for all of the studio's other games .
action
The cousins Fone, Phoney and Smiley Bone were forced to leave their hometown of Boneville. Armed only with a map, they find themselves in a huge desert, where they are soon separated. While searching for his cousins and on the way back to Bonesville, Fone meets a girl named Thorn in a forest, who takes him to her grandmother's farm, where he meets Phoney. During the night the farm is attacked by rat-like creatures, but the bones are saved by a red dragon. The next day, the Bones set out for the town of Barrelhaven, where a cow race is to take place.
Game principle and technology
Bone is a 3D point-and-click adventure . From polygons composite, three-dimensional figures also act in three-dimensional scenes; hand-drawn pictures are occasionally integrated in the background (e.g. in distant landscapes). The Telltale Tool engine was used . The player can use the mouse to move his character through the locations and use the mouse buttons to initiate actions that allow the character to interact with his environment. Fone and Phoney can find objects, apply them to the environment or other objects and communicate with NPCs . As the story progresses, more locations will be unlocked. The camera shows what is happening from a frontal perspective; If the player leaves the field of vision within a room, the camera moves in the respective direction. Dialogues take place via context-related selection menus. Occasionally, the action is interrupted by so-called mini - games , in which the player must use skill instead of thinking. Cutscenes take place entirely in game graphics.
Production notes
In 2006 Bone was ported to the Mac OS operating system. In the same year appeared with Bone: The Great Cow Race (German title: Bone - Das große Kuhrennen ) a second part of the game.
