Bonn directly was a television magazine of ZDF to the current political events which from the former German capital Bonn has been sent. The broadcast took place from December 6, 1987 to April 11, 1999. The ZDF studio manager in Bonn and his deputy usually took turns moderating. The broadcast lasted 20 minutes.

Bonn direkt continued the concept of the previous program Bonner Perspektiven , which was broadcast on the same slot from January 2, 1966 to November 29, 1987, in a slightly modernized form: the program reported before the start of the new week on the topics that were in Bundestag were on the agenda. Bonn direkt resolved to present politics as up-to-date as possible, unfiltered and entertaining, in order to also attract viewers who were less interested in politics. Bonn was regularly the most-viewed political magazine of the year, which was partly due to the favorable broadcasting slot on Sundays at 7:10 p.m. following the main issue of heute-Messages lay. During the parliamentary summer break, the " summer interviews " were broadcast, in which the top politicians of all parties represented in the Bundestag were questioned. This series of interviews pioneered the now firmly established summer interviews during the holiday season.

A rock arrangement of the second theme from the second movement ( Scherzo ) from Ludwig van Beethoven's hammer piano sonata was used as the title melody of the show . The arrangement comes from Uwe Buschkötter .

Shortly before the federal government moved to Berlin in 1999, the broadcast title was directly renamed Berlin .
