Bonneweg
Bonneweg ( Luxembourgish Bouneweg , French Bonnevoie ) is a town in Luxembourg City in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (Luxembourg) with 16,600 inhabitants (2016). It is divided into the two districts of Bonneweg-Nord and Bonneweg-Süd .
A Cistercian abbey was located in Bonneweg from 1200 to 1796 .
In the 1940s and 1950s, mainly characterized by workers' housing from the expanding national railway company ( CFL ), today it is an increasingly dynamic, developing district with a slowly growing business in the city center. Bonneweg has for the most part a high quality of living , even if individual access roads have high traffic density.
Located close to the forest ( Alzettetal , max. 3 km), it is a place of retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
It is considered disadvantageous that Bonneweg is partly in the (mainly inward) flight path of Luxembourg 's Findel airport .
The architectural image is still characterized by (mostly recently renovated) single and multi-family houses ( row houses ) from the 1950s and 1960s. The quality of life is, as mostly everywhere in Luxembourg, very good. Only recently, starting from the adjacent train station area, has sometimes been slight crime, e.g. B. Drug crime observed.
