history

The place was named after the family of Charles Booth who moved here in the 1830s and owned land. A post office was opened in 1899.

Booth is about a mile east of a route on which US Highway 82 and Alabama State Route 6 run. A few kilometers to the southeast there is a connection to US Highway 31 and Interstate 65 .
