history

The hamlet was first mentioned in a document on March 28, 1549. He belonged to the Geisa office of Fulda .

In the Turkish tax register of the prince abbey of Fulda from 1605, the place is mentioned under the name Borwartz with 8 families.

In 1955 there were 56 inhabitants in the village, by 2012 this number had almost halved to 32 inhabitants.
