Borjghala

The Borjghala or Borschghali ( Georgian ბორჯღალა, ბორჯღალი) is an ancient Georgian symbol of the sun with seven wings. She is often depicted in a circle that symbolizes the universe.

It symbolizes eternal movement and life at the same time and is related to the Mesopotamian symbols of eternity and the sun.

The Borjghala is used today on official Georgian documents, identity cards , passports and coins . It has been the logo of Georgian Airways since 1994 . Because the symbol is not legally protected internationally, it is also used on the label by a German manufacturer of Sulguni cheese.
