Boris Alexandrowitsch Bachmetjew
Boris Alexandrowitsch Bachmetjew ( Russian Борис Александрович Бахметьев ; * 1880 in Tbilisi , Russian Empire ; † July 21, 1951 in Brookfield , Connecticut ) was a Russian engineer and diplomat.
Bachmetjew studied in St. Petersburg and at the ETH Zurich .
For some time (1917-22) he was the Russian Ambassador to the United States. He then became a professor at Columbia University , where he co-founded the archive for Russian culture, which is now named after him, the Bakhmeteff Archive .
