Boris Kastner-Jirka (born May 2, 1969 in Vienna as Boris Jirka ) is an Austrian sports presenter and commentator at ORF .

life and career

Boris Jirka graduated from the Natural Science Realgymnasium in Vienna III in 1987 . , Radetzkystraße. After that, he did his military service and completed one year's voluntary training to militia - officer .

He did not complete his studies in sports science , journalism and communication science , geography and cartography . From 1990 Jirka worked as a freelancer in the current service of the ORF regional studio in Lower Austria . In 1996 he moved to Vienna in the ORF sports department, where he has been a reporter, commentator and presenter in various sports since 1997 (in summer: soccer , handball , volleyball , beach volleyball , fistball ; in winter: Nordic skiing ). He has also presented the program Sport am Sonntag for several years .

family

Boris Kastner-Jirka is married and has three children (one son and two daughters). He has had his surname Kastner-Jirka since his wedding in 2009 because he put his wife's family name in front of his own family name.

Miscellaneous

Boris Kastner-Jirka, himself a volunteer paramedic with the Red Cross for a while , lent his voice to the voice dialogue system of the control center of 144 Notruf Niederösterreich .
