Boris van der Ham (born August 29, 1973 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch former politician of the Democrats 66 (D66) and the chairman of the Dutch humanist organization Humanist Verbond .

Life

After finishing school in Amsterdam, van der Ham studied history at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam . In addition to his studies, van der Ham was politically active and became a member of the liberal Democrats 66 party. After his studies, van der Ham worked as an actor. From 2002 to 2012 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the States General , from November 2006 to June 2010 he was also vice-chairman of the parliamentary faction of the D66. In 2003 he was one of the initiators of the legislative initiative that led to the Dutch referendum on the planned EU constitution in 2005.

In 2007 van der Ham took part in the Parada Równości in Warsaw . In November 2012 he became chairman of the Dutch humanist organization Humanist Verbond.
