Borja Garcés Moreno (born August 6, 1999 in Melilla ) is a Spanish football player . The center forward is under contract with Atlético Madrid .

Career

Borja Garcés began his career with Gimnástico Melilla , then the Spanish first division Atlético Madrid noticed him at a tournament . The then 16-year-old then began to play for some U-teams. In February 2018 he played his first game in the UEFA Youth League against FK Željezničar Sarajevo and scored his first two goals in this.

Borja Garcés was allowed to train with the first team from time to time at the end of 2017. The then 18-year-old made his debut with the first team in Nigeria in a friendly on May 22, 2018 against the Nigeria B team. In that game he also scored a goal. Further appearances at the International Champions Cup followed .

On September 9, 2018, Garcés made his debut for Atlético's B team in Segunda División B when he came on as a substitute for Juan Antonio Segura in the 63rd minute against Unionistas de Salamanca CF on matchday three of the 2018/19 season . Six days after his third division debut, he finally completed his first game for the professionals in the Primera División when he was brought into play against SD Eibar in the 70th minute for Rodrigo . In that game he also scored his first goal in the top Spanish league with the goal to make it 1-1 in the 90th minute.
