The Borkumer Zeitung is a small and traditional daily newspaper on the East Frisian island of Borkum .

The newspaper appeared from 1881 to 1945 and again from 1949 in the publishing house Borkumer Zeitung GmbH, Borkum. It has been published by ZGO Zeitungsgruppe Ostfriesland GmbH since the beginning of 2019. It is distributed four issues a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays); the edition is around 1900 copies. The Borkumer Zeitung obtained the coat from the Nordwest-Zeitung in Oldenburg until the end of 2019 . Since then he has been working for the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung. The Borkumer Zeitung maintains its own website.

Former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder gave the Borkumer Zeitung one of his rare interviews in 2007.

In 2008, the German Press Council reprimanded the newspaper for violating the press code . She had reported on a man sentenced to prison, named his name and thus violated the man's personal rights.

The publishing director is Wilke Specht.
