Borsad is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat .
The city is part of the Anand district . Borsad has the status of a municipality ( Nagar Palika ). The city is divided into 12 wards . It had a total of 63,377 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census, of which 32,798 were men and 30,579 women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of around 59%, followed by Muslims with around 27%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 88.05%.
