The Boston Cannons are a professional lacrosse team based in Boston , Massachusetts . Since the 2001 season they have been a member of the Major League Lacrosse .

history

The Boston Cannons are among the eight teams that play in Major League Lacrosse. The founder and president of the association is Matt Dwyer. From 2001 to 2003 the home stadium of the Cannons was the Cawley Memorial Stadium in Lowell (Massachusetts) . In 2004 they moved to Nickerson Field at Boston University , where they played until the end of the 2006 season. Since 2007 they have played their home games at Harvard Stadium , which is two kilometers from Nickerson Field and two kilometers from the club office.

The Cannons qualified for the MLL playoffs every year from 2001 to 2006. They also won the finals in the American Division in 2004 and 2005.

On March 20, 2007, they signed a contract with the Washington Bayhawks that stipulates that an exchange between the players Conor Gill and Ryan Curtis of the Cannons and the players Michael Powell and Ben DeFelice of the Bayhawks takes place.
